JSI Consulting History

Founded in 1966 by visionaries Jerry Schluckbier and Bob Higginbotham, JSI Consulting has grown into a trusted leader in the manufacturing representation industry. What began with a focus on the S.S. Kresge Company quickly evolved into a defining partnership with Kmart—at the time the nation’s largest retailer. Managing business within Kmart laid the foundation for our reputation: dedicated, innovative, and deeply invested in our partners’ success.

As retail shifted, so did we. Recognizing the importance of diversification, JSI expanded into the Farm & Ranch sector, opening a Nashville office to service Tractor Supply Company’s fast-growing business. This expansion also allowed us to support another major retailer in the Mass sector—Dollar General—further strengthening our presence in the retail landscape.

Staying ahead of industry change has always been central to our strategy. By embracing advancements in reporting and analytics, we’ve gone beyond the traditional role of a rep firm to deliver insights that drive smarter decisions.

In 2022, we opened our Memphis office to meet the growing demands of our Automotive business with AutoZone, marking another pivotal step forward.

Our growth continued in 2024 with the opening of two new offices: Atlanta, to support Home Depot’s expanding needs, and Monterrey, Mexico, our first international location, to serve the dynamic Latin American market. These milestones reflect our commitment to adaptability, foresight, and global reach in an ever-changing retail environment.
